Font height

There seem to be assumptions regarding font height that are not always correct:

According to my browser I have the Courier font.

Perhaps it can be solved by integrating the text into the SVG or using logical lengths? (In this case I'd say the markings are not really needed and can just be removed, but maybe there are other cases where the SVG is really helpful).
